Black Alchemy: Celebrating Black Empowerment

Last year served as a painful reminder of all the things we still have to work on in this country. Even though humanity was fighting for survival during the (hopefully) worst pandemic of our lifetimes, sadly, black Americans were also fighting ✊🏿 ✊🏾 ✊🏽 for their right to exist without fear.

In spite of our new socially distant reality, thousands of people took to the streets in the name of justice and sent a powerful message worldwide: racial inequality still exists and we can’t keep quiet about it.

Our country’s history is filled to the brim with examples of injustices towards people of color that should be amended, but as a diverse nation, we also have incredible stories of overcoming adversities and thriving in spite of everything. In honor of Black History Month, I’ve compiled a few stories of black Americans that have enriched our history and that continue to inspire me deeply. I hope they inspire you, too.
