Mask in tow, let’s hit the trails!
Mask in tow; let’s hit the trails!
Fall is a beautiful time of year, especially if…
(#1) you enjoy the outdoors -and-
(#2) you love the mountains
I adore the outdoors and often find my most inspiration there. Yet this simple luxury oftentimes doesn’t get the appreciation it deserves. Spending time in nature is one of life’s greatest luxuries. And even though I enjoy life here in Miami, it goes without saying, being seaside equals to that of my love of forest bathing. Shinrin-yoku, as they say in Japan! (that’s for you Stancie ❤). Both the sea and mountain air breathes life into the gal.
In a few circles these past months, conversations have come up about the lack of air travel due to COVID, and how we are being pleasantly forced to rediscover our home stomping grounds again.
When we are traveling via air, whether for personal and/or business, outward influences, demands, schedules, “to-do” lists can certainly command our attention. But now that we are spending more time in our home cities, or traveling shorter distances to neighboring states/cities, our eyes are being reawakened to the beauty, mystery, and excitement that can be ours, here locally, for the taking … no passport or lines through security required! Life has slowed down. Mother Earth is calling our names and now making the commands.
So let’s get outside!
Even though I miss the thrill of global travel, it goes without saying that when I saw this guide to the best hikes in every state, I ensured my home state of North Carolina was present front and center and then had to follow suit in sharing this with my collective! Seeing that you all span North America (and abroad alike) let’s take to the mountains this Autumn 🍂 and bathe in the forest together.
Gander at the leaves turning their Autumn 🍁 hue, inhale the clean crisp air, and enjoy the silence of the trails. This is my “to-do” list bestowed on to you.
