Todd Webb in Africa: Outside the Frame
In a steamer truck found in an art collector’s basement, thousands of Todd Webb’s vintage prints, negatives, journal pages, and 170 rolls of undeveloped film surfaced 40 years ago. What stories did they tell? What visionary expression of art did they express? It would take years to reveal – but what the expanse was of an artist’s true expression and vision of real life, the changing face of a continent captured.
The revelation was Todd’s life’s work … AFRICA, circa 1950’s.
